Actually, come to think of it, are there any dogs that DO like (or at least are indifferent to) the sound of thunder and/or fireworks? (Other than deaf ones, of course).

Well, except for this guy of course....

Know what sucks?

Uh, world hunger, hurricanes, cancer?

Yes, those too, but it sucks to lose a close tennis match when you miss returns of serve you KNOW you'd have made in your prime. I S2G every friggin year I lose fractions of a second off my on-court speed.

Blah, I say, blah.

I wonder...did the first dog encourage the invention of the couch, or was it the other way around?

My daughter asked me a darn good question today: "Are there any moons in the solar system that have moons?" I admit that stumped me.

Played cards with old friends since I had the house for a bit while the kids were at an amusement park, got some good financial news about my investments in Israeli arms---thank you, Yakov---went out and let my buddy shoot off two-hundred rounds of semi-illegal ammunition from a WWI-era M1 Garand to celebrate---thank you, Grandpa---when they were gone I swam laps for half an hour before everyone got home, bagged up some old clothes for Saint Vincent's while I waited, and checked email to find out some encouraging news about my friend in Maine who has breast cancer. Strongly wished peace upon the world entire, and then as a backup plan set the security system after the family came home. It was a Zen sort of night amid the collapse of civilization, and I hope everyone is and remains well in days to come.

Go istibar callie ma hone.
