I remember Beetleborgs too.  Bad, but funny in a way.
I love the opening to kido senshi gandamu as well.  It's really good ever though the animation is very dated.

Not a cartoon, but man was it awful.  I watched every week.

I saw a clip of the Karate Kid cartoon on TV recently (not sure if it was mentioned) and wouldn't ya know it, last night the original Karate Kid movie was on too.  I don't remember there being a cartoon though...I was surprised.

Well, I know Family Guy gets a lot of hate, but I personally like it with all its nonsensical retroculture references.  Sure it's not the greatest thing in the world as some people like to think but I think it's leaps and bounds above cartoons like "Hammerman" or "Police Academy"

And Scooby Doo, although not my cup of tea, was definitely over with the kids especially when it had a bazillion knock-offs.  And when Space Ghost Coast to Coast first came out, it was a hoot.  Now the original, on the other hand, definitely belongs in this thread.

But you have a good edition with the Stuperfriends - damn that show was absolutely stupid!  Talk about dumbed-down for the kids!  Now Justice League, on the other hand, was a great show and I wish they'd make more of those.

Does anyone remember the weird Tom & Jerry 'toons set in the mid to late '60s that had no voice,  but lots of electronic sound effects? The 'Owner' was a classic classic case of Rage. What studio produced this?

You know, as a kid I really didn't like the Jem cartoon, but looking back on it as an adult, I can at least appreciate what they were trying to do, that is, create a cartoon starring females for a change and trying to appeal to that market.

I thought Superdave was a pretty stupid cartoon, but maybe I was just mad because it came on after X-Men and I wished that series was a full hour.

YuGiOh.

Oh, God!  I don't see how ANYONE can watch this crap.  I mean, I know all cartoons are commercials for toys, but this one doesn't even bother to hid it.  It's like watching someone else play card games all ep.

Karma for you BTM!  This show shows that no generation has any dignity unil they are 27.  Why?  Babies can't use the bathroom, toddlers can't use complete sentences, kids can't get their mind out of the gutter and put down the stupid Yu Gi Oh cards, teenagers can't stop thinking about doing the inevitable nasty, college students can't stop partying, then you're matured, then you're so old you can't take care of yourself.  Keep in mind that this doesn't refer to EVERYONE in the age group, just the majority.

Dude!  I saw an ep of that.. from what I understand, the Karate Kid and that Asian fellow (Miyagi, I think?) we're having to track down these ancient Chinese lantern antique things that had various mystical powers.  (In one ep, one of them turns Daniel six inches tall.)

I wish I were making this up.

Course, guess they figure the plot of the films wouldn't make for a good half hour series...

Somehow I avoided the card games like pokemon and Yu gi oh, don't ask me how, but I did. Now I'm pretty glad I mean over $100 bucks for a freaking card?!
