Hmm. Maybe you really ARE an insane infant...  Lookingup

What are you talking about, I have nothing on my profile that would suggest I'm an infant.

WILLOW was the first movie I ever walked out of.

Dog Soldiers was a letdown after watching The Descent.

Scanners was just meh.  Good head explosion, too much exposition.

The Washingtonians was a huge letdown for me. George Washington was really a cannibal, and a secrect organization has been covering it up for centuries? I saw that and said, "Heck, yes!". I was wrong. It wasn't good at all. I could have been awesome, but it didn't live up to that potential.

Once (2007)

"Hate" is too strong of a word. "Disappointed" sounds better. I didn't have any issues with the ending. In fact, I thought the ending suited the circumstances best, but I didn't like the way it was filmed (like a home movie).

The One

The premise sounded cool, the commercials made it look like an awesome thrill ride and while it had some cool action sequences, the big climax of the film with the two Lis finally facing each other was a big cliche-ridden letdown.

War

Jet Li vs Jason Stratham!  That alone was enough to sell me on the film.  I was like, "Say no more, I'm seeing that b***h!"  Well, actually, the "war" hinted at in the trailer doesn't even occur except for like five minutes or so of the movie's total runtime.  Then we have this "WTF?" lameass twist (I won't reveal it, but you'll probably guess it halfway in) and everything just peters out.

The Covenant

Another one of my "interesting premise, bad execution" films (hey, I think I need to make a thread dedicated to that sometime).  Anyway, four teens, each with magical abilities, start getting stalked by something or someone who knows there secrets.  Well, it could have been good.  Instead we get a lot of lameass dialog, flatter than cardboard characters, and a big climax involving two guys throw CGI balls of energy at each other.  (yawn).

Apocalypse Now

I know, I'm going to get flamed for this one, so bear with me.  This was on my "classic films I'd never seen yet" list, so I got it from Netflix.  First up, this film was looong.  I don't mean in a "We have a lot of story to tell and it's going to take a bit/epic movie" long, I mean, in a "Let's slowly pan...over...the....grass....now... onto.....the.....water." LONG.  A good scene here and there, then back to another looong sequence of staring at the scenery.

spoiler
Then, for the long awaited climax with the insane guy, it's another loong sequence, "Hi, you're captured!  I'm going to torture you for a little bit, blab to you for a little bit longer, blab some more, then let you loose, so you can run all stealthy like and finally kill me.  HAHA!"

Er.. okay.
end spoiler

I'm told the Redux version of this film that's even LONGER than the original.  WTF?  Like we didn't take enough time with the scenery in the theatrical version?

Ultraviolet- Complete and total tripe.  Campy and artsy only works for some flicks, and this certainly isn't one of them.
Cheerleader Massacre- You know, I really wanted this to be a mindless slasher flick with lots of blood and nudity.  And what did I get?  Lackluster blood and an actual storyline.  WTF?
Unrest- The death scenes and lack of climax left much to be desired.
Wicked Little Things- Cookie cutter horror flick with no rewatch value.  And here I hoped for a great flick with loads of killing and zombie children.  Meh.  I got what I wanted, just not the right presentation.
Deep Impact- What do you expect from a science fiction/drama with what sounds like a pornographic title?
Virus- When I saw the previews, I thought, "Woohoo!  Weird robot things killing people!"  I never thought such a concept could be so... boring...

Thank you. I might lift my X-3 inspired boycott of Marvel for Iron Man. Even though I was never into the character, Robert Downy might pull it off. I'll read a lot of reviews before I consider it.

If this 'forgetting sarah marshall' movie is anything but a frat boy flop, I'll see you all back here....after it comes out on dvd.

One movie, I had heard so many good things about and utterly despised was Cabin Fever.  The characters were totally unlikeable.  Gore effects cannot carry an entire movie.  Frankly, I don't think Eli Roth is as great a director as he'd proclaimed.
