If there was ever a b-movie that make s me wonder why its not more respected among the bulk of the movie-going America, its RE-ANIMATOR. Seriously, why isnt it up there with the jason and Freddy movies? *sigh* ANYWAY, about a year ago or so, Anchor Bay re-released RE-ANIMATOR onto a special edition dvd. Having never seen or heard of it before, i bought it and fell in love. Jeffery Combs does an amazing job as an actor ans the perfect combo of horror and humor is just awsome.

A few weeks ago I watched the third installment in the series, "BEYOND RE-ANIMATOR". I went itno it not expecting it to live up to the originals 80's AWSOMENESS, but as it turns out, it was just as good.

I have yet to see the second re-animator movie, but im looking forward to it.

I love each part of the Re-Animator trilogy for their own special little reasons. All three of them are fun to watch and work on their own levels. A lot of people give Bride too much flak because I guess they didn't know what to expect going from a Stuart Gordon movie into a Brian Yuzna sequel, but if you dug Beyond so much KY, I think you'll be a fan of Bride too.  Cheers

As I've beaten into the ground before, Re-Animator is the movie that turned me into a b-horror lover, so for anyone who enjoys my site or my posts here, you have Re-Animator to thank. For my detractors, well, looks like I've ruined it for you.  Wink

So who are these horror fans that don't respect Re-Animator?  I have to ask cause I haven't met one yet who doesn't absolutely love the film.   TeddyR

Re-Animator is one that I recommend to people on a regular basis.  They normally rent the film and then think me to be absolutely insane, but it's worth it.  Everyone should see the film at least once in their lives.

Bride of Re-Animator is pretty fun.  Dr. Hill flying around with bat wings is fun, and the story is decent.  It's worth a buy if you haven't seen it yet.

Beyond Re-Animator is exactly what the series needed.  I was lucky enough to catch it in the theater with a decent sized group of people, each of which got into the film's groove.  By the end of the movie, people were laughing, cheering, screaming....it's what the cinema was made for.

Supposedly there is a new film in the works but I haven't heard word on it in a while.  I'm assuming it's in developmental hell at this point.

What i meant was, its not as widely known as other horror movies. EVERYONE in America knows who Jason Vorheese is, whether they've seen the friday movies or not. The case is not the same with Herbert West.

Yea, i heard about that. It's called "House of Re-animator" in which West re-animates the late president! HAW!
