I have my google homepage set to include a little bucket for the daily Astronomy Picture of the Day.  Usually it's nice spiral galaxy or noctilucent clouds veiling a constellation.

The one for today was a "mov" of flights all around the North American continent occurring over about three days.

While not actually contrails(the imagery was rendered by computer algorithm), the effect is mesmerizing.  I, myself, was transfixed by the ghostly and vaporous stream of flights pouring out to the northeast headed for Europe and the subsequent spray of flights hurdling in from there.  Frankly, it put me in mind of WARGAMES.  Wink
