I really had hope for this film, but that quickly changed as I watched it.

I like those movies set in the mid 70's, I was going into High School and having the time of me life. We all like to revisit those days from time to time, so movie of that time setting appeal to me.

He's the plot, sort of ... there was sort of a plot. Set in 1976 high School friends, set around drink, smoke weed, steal and crash parties. Two of the friends are tight, and while at a wedding party they crashed for free booze, John (Mt Rushmore) gets in fight with one of the invited guest, a jock from school. So John, played by Jorge Garcia beats the snot out of him and he later dies, strangely of stab wounds, but John didn't have a knife. Well no one narcs anyone out and the murder which is a minor part of the story goes unsolved, as the cops do a little questioning. While Jay (Worm) goes about life trying to cope with what he knows he fails for a hot babe and jock girlfriend he tried to pick up at the wedding party earlier. Slowly he worms his way into her heart and pants. Tension build between the potheads and jocks and internal strife with the potheads with rouge old ex-con partier, Smelly Bob. It does finally reach boiling point for all involved.
Smelly Bob has a hard on for Jay, not in a good way and finally tries to kick the crap out of him. John (Mt Rushmore), did I mention they all have nicknames? .. anyway John grabs Smelly Bob and nearly kills him in a choke hold, not letting go until he says he's sorry ... So now everyone is after Jay, except John who has issues of his own, the jocks, Smelly Bob, the girl, the cops etc. Long boring story cur short here, Jay is in trouble he knows he needs to change his life and direction, many events point to this and if he wants the girl he's got to make adjustments. Can he do it or does she join the dark side or just leave him?

Sound exciting doesn't it ... well the box didn't say that and if it did I'd left it on the shelf. The box lied! The box said it was good, even put the word "Good" in the title, the box lied.

Well this movie drags and drags on for another hour or so after all that and with lots of talking, lots of coming of age, lots of boring, boring story and a whole lotta nothing. I well say the art direction was good, nothing jumped out at me as not period to the mid 70's. From the fashion, hair styles to decor and the speech, it all looked very 70's. Sure there were a couple of small boob shots from Cameron Richardson who plays Wendy for love interest, but the child should have left her shirt on, she had nothing to show so I do mean small boob shots.

All in all I was robbed of 2 hours of my life and 2 hours into the film and wife and I both said "What the hell was that about?" There was a story albeit a bad one, and the cast was rather flat ... I blame Kelsey Grammer, he was in and produced it. I went into this film thinking there might be a little humor ... no just a couple or three jokes and that's it.

Don't waste you time with this one, skip it.
