My girlfriend sure seems to think so. Yes, I get shivers of pleasure running up and down my spine at the sight of another set of bargain bin B-movies. I love hunting for them anyplace they sell DVDs, used or new and my heart jumps a slight tremor when I come across another one, especially one I've yet to see.

I've always said the best movies have "monsters" in them and I don't mean CGI ones when I say that...no it's makeup, a guy in a monster costume, animatronics, stop-motion animation and other classic special FX tricks. Of course, another common element is the character actor star, the more closely associated with the general B-movie genres the better - Lugosi, Karloff, Chaney, Price, Cushing, Agar, Lee, Carradine to name just a few. And of course most boast a beautiful leading lady to boot...Domergue, Garland, Hayes, Vickers, Welch, Vetri, Pitt, Steele, Acquanetta etc.. But then I also like blaxploitation and Martial Arts actioners which while often lacking a "monster" still have colorful heroes and villains and most often gorgeous women too!

I'm just a movie junkie period!  Though I have always had a soft spot for the cheesy underbelly of cinema.

I tend to have two versions of the same movies.

I have two imports of Galaxy of Terror. One's high quality, but it's cropped at the top & bottom to fit the 16x9 ratio, the other's lower quality, but it's still got the whole screen.

I'm glad I kept my VHS copies of Easy Rider & The Legend of Hell House, because the DVDs were cropped to fit 16x9. I really hate that.

I've got so many closeout VHS movies & so many cheap DVD movies from Dollar Tree, Big Lot's, Family Dollar, & the $1.00 racks @ Wal-Mart, that I've lost track of them all.

Some of these are two to four movies on one disk, which can be kind of irritating when one already has several other copies of the other three from various other movie packs, and the set has only one movie not in one's collection. Especially if the movie pack you're looking at costs $2.46 instead of $1.

Well, when I look at my movie collection, there aren't many titles like The Godfather or Breaking Away.  There's a whole row of Godzilla, all the Black Lagoon pictures, a precious taped-off-the-TV copy of Night Of The Lepus, and let's not forget shy, half-unknown gems like Virus and Barn Of The Blood Llama.

I raced over to Halloween USA as soon as it opened this year -- not to look for costumes, although I did, but to see what multi-pack crap horror movies they had for $3 a box.

Yeah, you could say I'm an addict.

"Hello my name is Dr Malavaqua and I think I'm a B-movie addict."  Drink

Exhibit A:
Like JaseSF I tend to swarm around the bargain bins whenever me & my gf go to a low price supermarket...and I'm usually not content until I've rummaged through 99% of the bin, stacking them to make sure nothing is overlooked..

Exhibit B:
On our short roadtrip/vacation this year we(me&gf) went about 250 km to an IKEA store to buy some long awaited furniture upgrades, BUT the one thing I remember isn't the new furniture, the hostels we stayed at, or how fun the road trip was.
To me it will always be remembered as the trip when I hesitated and didn't get the Turkish Superman double bill:
SUPERMEN DONUYOR (TURKISH SUPERMAN)1973/DEMIR YUMRUK: DEVLER GELIYOR (IRON FIST: THE GIANTS ARE COMING)1979
... Bluesad *weep* ..and I had haggled it down about 30%.. ..it was a limited 1200 copies, hand numbered edition..

I dunno.

I did have dreams that there was a sequel to Troll 2, or that the same stuff was used from that movie into another.

I always get excited over bargain bins too.

you know you're a B movie addict when:

- You own multiple copies of films throughout different boxed sets because that boxed set or collection contains just one title you have not seen. (I own 6 copies of sonny chiba's street fighter, 3 of sister street fighter, 3 of samurai reincarnation, 4 of bruce lee fights back from the grave....etc, etc, etc)

- You will buy anything that's less than $5 on DVD from Walmart or the dollar store regardless of who's in it/plot/film studio/year of the film.

- You have an entire DVD shelf filled with films you have yet to watch
