16.) Sabu

Although he can be sloppy in the ring at times, Sabu is nuts.  He really help put several independent cards on the map.

No. 17 - Mr. Perfect. The greatest Intercontinental Champion in WWF history. The guy had smarm, charm, and his performances were smooth as melted butter. A perfect heel and one of the better "wrestler-turned-commentator" characters. Also, the only wrestler currently to have a rap-ballad tribute about him as written and performed by another wrestler (Randy Savage's "Perfect Friend").

18) Owen Hart (RIP)

Small | Large

I watched "Over The Edge" live on TV in the early hours, it was tragic. I'm absolutely certain Owen would've gone on to have a run with the title and accomplish many other great things. I don't think they've put him in the Hall Of Fame yet, I don't know why - Legend  Smile

19. Cactus Jack

Small | Large

I don't follow wrestling, but I mention him because I met him at a party once and talked to him about boxing for about 15 minutes (it was the night Buster Davis knocked out Mike Tyson, and he told me the news).  Really cool guy, extremely nice.  I think he liked talking to me because I didn't know who he was and wasn't bugging him with the usual fan questions.  It was only afterwards that I learned who he was and about his history.

Cool story Rev, Cactus seems to be a cool guy from other stories I've heard too.

Figure I'd bring up the inevitable...
20.) Hulk Hogan
Small | Large

Although the guy had two left feet in the ring and the ego of a God, no one can deny what he did for the industry back in the 80s.  That and his amazing transformation to heal in the NWO.

21.) Jake the Snake Roberts- Figured he'd have been mentioned by now.

I think it'll be a while before he's in there.  It seems they try to distance themselves from him due to the whole situation with how they handled it.  Seems a majority of people felt they (WWE) should've ended the PPV right then, and also felt they should've taken extra time to allow him to test the safety harnesses.  Hell, it took Bret like, ten years to accept a semi-working relationship after he left.  I highly doubt either Bret or Owen's widow especially will want anything to do with Vince in regards of Owen.  Bret, maybe, but not the widow.

Good old Cactus.  Could've had him listed under his other personas: Mankind, or Dude Love.  Generally regarded as one of, if not the 'nicest' pro wrestlers ever, which is completely the opposite of his in-ring appearances; IE: chairs, fire, cages, missing teeth, losing ears, concussions, etc.

What are the Top 100 Professional Wrestlers Of All Time?  I'll start;
1.) Rowdy Roddy Piper

Great on the microphone and severely hated in the 80s  Thumbup
Not to mention his work in the classic movie: They Live.  I loved Piper.  In 1989, as I entered Kindergarten, I had to use my Piper lunchbox everyday, cause he was awesome, and everyone else loved Hogan.  I did too, but Piper was great.  Hitting people with coconuts is the way to do it.

The guy's also a good author who's lead an interesting professional life. I read his first two books "Have A Nice Day" and "Foley Is Good". He's got a very flowing writing style that feels like you're reading a really long letter one of your friends wrote you.

As for No.23 - Playboy Buddy Rose - A unique wrassler from the AWA days, I'd only heard the man mentioned by commentators before I started watching the AWA shows on ESPN Classics... which is where I was also introduced for the first time to Scott Hall's cowboy mustache. Buddy Rose was a comical heel who would come to the ring and interrupt the announcer, "correcting" him when he would be listed as 270lbs when Buddy insisted that he was actually 217lbs. He looked kinda like Ric Flair with a beer gut and when he'd get his ass kicked he would retreat to his corner to cry in the arms of manager Sensational Sherri.

Speaking of AWA, Zbyszko simply could get under any crowd's skin as a heal.
