Dang, Anubis, you have groupies?  That seals the deal: I'm getting into the movie-reviewing biz!

He's not the only one with groupies! Though in one case, one of his groupies and one of my groupies is the same groupie...and I think we both have the pictures to prove it.

Right, Anubis? Wink TeddyR

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

As far as Facebook goes, that's another thing where I only joined because an attractive female friend/groupie of the Tomb wanted me to.

Funny how, as a failed musician and self-destructive drunk I seemed to attract alot of women. Where as now, being of sounder mind and in a more secure position in life, nothing.  Bluesad

Yeah, heh heh, Nicole's really is a horror site groupie in the truest sense. She knows what she likes, she knows how to "express" that enjoyment, and she's not afraid to do so with her favorite webmasters.  TeddyR

I was also corresponding with another "friend" of the Tomb lately, but sadly she only had internet access from work and since I stopped getting replies from her shortly after the economy s**t the bed, I think she's collecting unemployment now.  Bluesad

Why do you need another networking site? Badmovies.org is the place for you! One of us, one of us!

Who's to say, however, that the woman for you isn't psycho?   TeddyR

Obviously it's not a guarantee, but my suggestion is to make one of two sites: (1) Yet another site that panders to mainstream horror/slasher stuff in an effort to pick up teens who think that liking A Nightmare On Elm Street makes them "different" and thus "no one understands their taste" because they're so "unique" (2) A site that emphasizes gory stuff that's outside of the mainstream but still available on DVD, thus getting the attention of legitimate "socially different" women (though you risk the occasional stalker if you're not careful) and make sure to frequently pepper your reviews with jabs at Hollywood horror movies, directors and actors. I find that calling Wes Craven a retarded sell-out jag-off every so often catches their attention.

But that's just my experience.  Wink

Social networking sites. I have to go with the neither position as well. I do have a Facebook account, but I hardly ever look at it.

It was fun for the first little while, when I was finding people I hadn't seen in years. Problem is, you find them and then what? Just restart your friendship with your best bud from Grade 4? It's awkward as hell.

On top of that, you have the friend collectors, who will send a friend request to anyone they vaguely remember from some earlier time in their lives. Doesn't matter if neither of you associated with each other or even necessarily liked each other. I was getting friend requests and digging out yearbooks to figure out who the hell they were.

And the answer to what all these people do on Facebook is they throw sheep at each other and fiddle with a lot of annoying add-ons that then send invitations to everybody on their friend lists. That and stuff they can do anywhere else on the net - chat, email, post pics, etc.

I just don't get it.

Use both.

I completely disagree that social networking sites are strictly for teens and twentysomethings.
One of the things I like about them is that they're fun!
I have reconnected with friends and family members I haven't seen in years because of them.

Myspace is fun because you can really show your personality on it.
Look at my profile on there.  It gives you a little more insight into who I am, what I'm into and what kind of music I like.  Without it, you wouldn't have the first clue about me.
(but remember, I'm an extrovert who doesn't mind putting my life on display)

Facebook is fun because a lot of my former classmates use it.  Why pay to use Classmates.com when Facebook is free?
I do agree with Andy about the sheep throwing and all that other junk on Facebook.  I usually ignore most of those things.
And I also stay away from the apps at Myspace.

Other than that, I say give 'em both a shot.  You might actually have fun!   Smile  Thumbup

Myspace or Facebook?  TongueOut

MySpace

Though I agree with Ash in many respects, including to get both, MySpace is more out there as can be evidenced by the number of celebrities who use it for their websites and fan pages.

That aside, my suggestion would be to register your own domain (around $10 a year), get you own hosting (you can get it for a dollar a month, and free hosting as well), and use a CMS or blog script like Wordpress, Joomla, PHPNuke, or other, to do it yourself (unless you really want to code your own pages Lookingup).

After getting your own domain and setting up your site, get a MySpace and Facebook account, set up some basic pages with them, and put links to your site on those pages.

If you are going to bother with creating your own content, you might as well make it yours completely with your own site rather than using it for someone else's site.

What?  Too much buildup?

Nah; the only time it's too much buildup is when she says "That's it? I was expecting more." TongueOut

I actually joined Facebook, and its interesting, I found a cousin I had lost touch with, and some old friends use it, so its not a huge waste of time.  There are some OK puzzle apps.  Its better than I thought it would be.

I've decided on a facebook account for now, so that resolves that, or does it?
