I find I'm so excited that I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it's the excitement only a free man can feel. Had something similar happen to us a few years back: as I recall, it was shortly after our youngest had begun reliably sleeping through the night. The phone rang after 3 a.m. - may have been closer to 4. It was a call from Germany (I checked the number afterward) - somebody trying all the numbers in our area with our (fairly common) surname, trying to locate a particular person. Their demeanor certainly did not seem to imply the call was all that urgent. NO regard for the time zone difference. So I waited a few days and called them back - at 3 a.m. THEIR time. It was worth it.  I hope nobody thinks less of me now. |

I certainly don't ~ that reminds me of the guy in Johannesburg whose neighbours' dogs started barking for no reason at about two each morning and continued barking until five am and, when this guy's nerves were already frayed from lack of sleep, got tired and slept. The guy located the neighbours' telephone number and called it at two every morning for about three days, barking like a dog down the phone and what happened? The barking stopped. Epic win! |
