I'm not sure what to think of the new Star Trek film after watching this trailer.
I still say it looks too "O.C.".  Like a cheesy action flick made for teenagers.
The space battles look cool.  It's everything else I'm worried about.

That just looks utterly comical.

Shrug, it looks....all right, interesting, I'm sure at some point I'll see it, but I've no doubt hard core Star Trek fans are going to revile this film for generations.

There have been reports of people who saw some early preview footage and have been very positive.

For instance:

JJ Abrams is directing.  I don't know what I think of that.  He did a decent, but not fantastic, job with Mission: Impossible III.  His style is OK, but kind of dull.  I think it reflects his TV origins.

Looks like Abrams is copying the recent Star Wars abominations... Lookingup

It could be good, it could also be very very bad - but not all movies can be judged by their trailers.  Have to wait and see, I guess.

As far as the trailer goes...at least it looks exciting.   TeddyR

Can't be worse than, say, the first INCREDIBLE HULK remake!
