OK, combine ERAGON, THE LORD OF THE RINGS, EXCALIBUR, and a touch of GLADIATOR. Film it on a shoestring budget, and have it released under the Asylum label. What are you left with?
A great big fragrant piece of B-movie cheese!!!!
But, somehow, despite the abysmal swordplay, CGI dragons, and wooden acting, this film had a strange charm for me. For one thing, it was rated PG, so my daughter was able to watch it along with my wife and I. For another, the plot was at least somewhat entertaining, with a few original touches not normally seen in Asylum releases.
And Nimue, the Lady of the Lake, was vaguely hot in an unconvetional, English sort of way.
All in all, not a bad way to waste two hours while digesting Christmas dinner.
