There were a few scenes in Pink Flamingos that gave me an 'inverted erection'. It's the complete opposite of being sexually aroused, where 'Big Ed' is actually scared and trying to hide.

This statement gave me the same reaction, mainly the reference to "Big Ed".   BounceGiggle BounceGiggle BounceGiggle BounceGiggle BounceGiggle

This topic may have been awkwardly phrased, but I think it brings up an interesting point.

There is a special frisson I get from watching movies that just fail on every level whatsoever. This might be long, but bear with me.

I will freely admit that my interest in bad movies was started by two things. The first was my childhood love of horror (not uncommon). The second was my burgeoning interest in naked ladies. There was no internet when I was kid, the only hope you had to see the naked female form was to stay up late and watch crappy movies on HBO. (If you had Cinemax, which I did not, you were already in Valhalla.) So I did watch crappy movie after crappy movie in the sheer hope that eventually there would be RANDOM GRATUITOUS NUDITY.

So a large part of my formative years was spent watching not-so-good movies in the hope that naked ladies would be forthcoming. That's where I got a taste for bad movies.

Thing is, these days I don't need to see bad movies for naked ladies, but I still have a taste for the films themselves. But now I can watch these same movies and form opinions on them beyond the nudity factor.

Most of them are awful. But if you're like me, you start to appreciate how awful they can be. When I see something that is so awful that you start to wonder how anybody (the filmmaker) ever expected that it would be good, well, it's a rarifiied pleasure.

How about a temporary bout of IBS? I had that while watching certain movies.  Or maybe it was the greasy nachos and beer....

It might not be a feeling but I some films I have seen are so bad that people thought the films gave me Tourette's Syndrome from screaming obscenities at the film.

My brother in law Leroy ran to the bathromm and puked when we were watching Cronenbergs CRASH...the scene with the two guys making out. Which caused a vomit chain reaction on my part.

Many scenes in El Topo made me highly uncomfortable. The idea that there's a seven year old kid naked on the screen is unnerving.

That didn't bother me nearly as much as when JAMES SPADER starts to mouth the deep scar on the back of ROSANNA ARQUETTE's leg...  Buggedout  I don't think CRASH is "crappy" but typical for the director's gross-out work and maybe his most interesting film... (CRONENBERG...  Twirling )
