Paranoia: It's Everywhere!

According to many Americans, us Canadians are commies to the core. Be afraid America, be very afraid!   

We've had policies in Canada for decades that insured some level of healthcare would be provided for all citizens. Also there are equalization requirements governing how much each province provides for the overall country's well-being. Many of our political parties have and continue to support socialist idealogies...and what's wrong with that? Socialism isn't all bad by any means. In a free and democratic society, the people get to choose what they want...it might be universal medicare that the majority support if they really stopped to think about it. After all, anyone can end up sick and on hard times and at least here in Canada, I've never had a problem seeing a doctor whenever I needed one. And there usually isn't any bill to be paid. Now granted we do have a shortage of doctors and wait times can be long but hey, it's no charge to see a doctor, to have many types of surgery done.

See, why not let these people just opt out of the government?

don't collect taxes from them, let them run their own affiars and if it doesn't work they can come back lesson learned.  I dont like the idea that people are forced to pay for something they don't want.  like cable, I don't watch all these stupid home shopping channels,i watch lke 4 channels why am  I paying for all this other stuff?

I want my money to go to roads I drive on, schools kids in my family go to, and police protection for my community.  that's what I'm WILLING to pay for.  the rest is taken from me with force. 

So i'm on the side of the obama is a socialists in a lot of ways. 

imagine if the blue states could have not paid taxes during the bush years.  that would have been totally awesome

I would li9ke to respond to this, but the swine flu has rendered my higher thought processes inoperable . . . maybe tomorrow, when the Tamiflu has kicked in.  I feel like I am about to pass out right now.

We do pay taxes so that every citizen of Canada can have certain benefits like our healtcare system. Far from perfect as it is, I'm thankful I don't need health insurance, although it's still an option if I want to get it, of any kind to go see my doctor. Sure there are those who take wrong advantage of our social programs but I'm glad they're there because they will provide for those who cannot provide for themselves which could be a member of my family or my friend's family or the guy down theroad's family, etc..
