I am watching this as we speak.  A traditional plece of 50's horror/scifi.  Not bad and it has Nancy Regan (Davis) in an embarassing role.

I Saw The Movie Many Months Ago , I Thought It Was Pretty Good , And It's A Lot Better Than A Lot Of Other "Living Brain" Type Of Movies Made Around The Same Time

I finished it off, and it was really enjoyable in a slow way.   It was a well done story, very pleasantly surprising,

I'll just put my review here if that's okay with all of you

Donovans brain (1953) -  I'm going to need a personal keg of PBR to get me through all the stuff I've DVRed from thistv. Between Dr Heckly and Mr Hype , Frogs, Vigilante Squad,  there's really no limits over there so I wasn't at all surprised when this pretty random thing popped up.  It's very sort of purely sci fi. Not really alot of the noir element of Twilight Zone or Outer Limits or the expoitation/ whatever ness of Ed Wood and co.  Its kind of got the "we are having a menacing science problem" vibe of a Star trek episode or something.  I 've never actually watched star trek but I'm probably right.  The brain of a gangster is in a standard fish tank and it glows and puffs about from time to time.

The scientist guy isn't convincing as a scientist, he seems more like a florist or something, even when he takes on the brains gangster ish persona.  Nancy Reagan stinks as his wife.  A fine first lady, she doesn't even have the charisma for one of those shorts on personal hygiene.  It's like the planned actress got in a car accident and so did every other actress so they had the set dresser play the role. I've seen a couple disembodied brain movies now and I'd like to see more and for there to be more made.
