I've just thought that there are a good number of decent flicks that are public domain and viewable on the intarwebs.   Possibly the best of the bunch?:

Here's a link to the sci-fi horror collection from the Internet Archives:

http://www.archive.org/details/SciFi_Horror

That should cover most of the available PD titles.  Besides NOTLD a few other notable PD horror films are:

CARNIVAL OF SOULS
HORRORS OF SPIDER ISLAND
BLOODY PIT OF HORROR
WHITE ZOMBIE
THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE
I DRINK YOUR BLOOD
classic silents like NOSFERATU, THE CABINET OF DR. CALIGARI, and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA,
and lots of Roger Corman Movies.

You could download these and burn them to disc yourself, but I prefer to let Mill Creek do the work for me.

True, though it was the Internet Archive that got me hooked on cheesy films.  I've always been too paranoid to illegally download, so I just downloaded the public domain stuff.  When 80-90% of the movies you are watching are cheesy old horror and sci-fi flicks, you'd start loving all of it to. THE LAST MAN ON EARTH with Vincent Price is available on the archive.org link Rev posted. Very much worth watching, and interesting to compare to both THE OMEGA MAN and I AM LEGEND.

I love those Mill Creek sets.  At first, I was afraid to buy them.  But I tried the MYSTERY CLASSICS set and I was hooked.  I own most of them now and probably haven't watched more than 30% to 40% of the movies in them.  Hours and hours of cheesy entertainment.

Only two of those are public domain, though.
