Actually, M&Ms commercials have had jokes involving fear or indignation over the idea of being eaten. Pretty clever.

This discussion reminds me of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Anybody remember the restaurant at the end of the universe, featuring a genetically engineered talking cow that was brought out to the table to tell the customer which parts of it were the most tender and tasty?
