HELP! WE ARE STUCK IN A GOOD MOVIE!!!

« on: October 14, 2010, 07:40:47 PM »

This movie was brought up in my American Ninja thread.  What are the names of the first movies before Ninja III and were there others after it?

Speaking of Ninja III, I like this movie.  Good looking lady and awesome fighting scenes.  I give  Thumbup Thumbup's up.

Thanks,

John

I don't think the 3 ninja movies are related to each other. At least I'm pretty sure the 3rd wasn't realted to the first two. In any case, it's a fantastic "non-trilogy".

That's the best way to sum it up. A 4th one just came out called Ninja Assassin that is also ridiculous.

I saw this one on Spanish TV when I was on my teens and ninjas were cool. They had this weekly spot for movies like this one, preceded by a brief introduction by Coral Bistuer, a very good looking olympic taekwondo fighter. I think she introduced this one as being part of the series with Michael Dudikoff (which IMO was not a goof but a deliberate attempt to gather more audience), hence my confussion in the other thread.

I remember it being a cool flick, if only for the opening golf course massacre and the supernatural touches. From more recent encounters with the films of Sho Kosugi ("Black Eagle" anyone?) I imagine my impressions today would be very, very different.

I have a copy of Ninja III on vhs from a bargain store. I've almost worn out the tape just from showing people first 10 minutes of the movie. Now that is how you open up a film.

Yeah. It's unfortunate that the opening of Ninja III is by far the best part of the film.  I saw it randomly when I accidentally recorded just that scene at the end of some other movie on VHS many years ago, and then I sought out the movie only to be disappointed by anything nearly as entertaining in the rest of the film.

There's this one scene in Ninja II that is pretty ridiculous as well. There's a van chase scene where he has to fight a native american after.
