Also, did you know Mark Twain did two more books with Tom Sawyer?  Tom Sawyer Abroad (1894), and Tom Sawyer, Detective.  Guessing neither of these two did so great.

He was also in THE ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN.  That Tom Sawyer sure got around . . .

I did not know until this weekend that Matt Roberts is the great nephew of one of my sister's closest friends.

I didn't know that Dr Pepper is actually a type of Cherry Soda.  Swear to God, just found that out about a year ago.  Dunno if Mr Pibb as well, or not though.

Well, I meant books as a main character, but yeah, that's true.

I thought it was actually called Tom Sawyer: A Broad, and was about his experiments in cross-dressing.

Hmmm. Is that what Rush were referring to when they were singing about "Today's Tom Sawyer?"

I didn't know anything about Manos the Hands of Fate or Torgo... the guy that shakes right?

I'm watching it now, looks like pretty bad. But I need to see it. I'm a "B movie lover".

I'm a huge fan of Toho movies and anything Godzilla and look what I found out today...

I didn't know Goro Mutsumi aka Alien Leader Kuronuma (top middle) and Shin Kishida aka Interpol Agent Nanbara (right) from Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla 1974 was in something called the Scientific Attack Force (SAF) from Magma Man (TV Series 1973) Japan.

I'm also 99% sure the man to the left is in Terror of Mechagodzilla. The Alien Henchman that says "dont try to escape earthling or you will force me to kill you".

The guy all the way to the left? He looks like Mako ih his younger days...

I didn't know until recently that the ABC song and Twinkle Twinkle little star had the same melody.

On that note ( TeddyR ) For He's a Jolly Good Fellow and The Bear Went Over the Mountain have the same melody.

I didn't know that author Michael Crichton died a couple of years ago.  I've always been a fan of his books even though I haven't read anything of his for a while.  I was totally shocked and saddened.

Another thing I didn't know until yesterday:  David Hyde Pierce (Niles from Frasier) is gay!

Not that there's anything wrong with that or that I really care either way. And sure, he's a little too refined and femmy for my tastes but it still surprised me.

Was I misinformed?  Does anyone know for sure?

No, you're not misinformed. I remember reading a news article at some point in the last few years where he had officially come out. I'm sure if you google it you'll come across such articles.
