Need help with an 80's monster movie

The only thing o can remember about this movie was at some point in the movie one of the actors/actress turn and look at a street sign and it says monsters

Was it for sure a movie? I ask because I remember an episode of Monsters with a sign that said just that.

Do you recall if you ever see the "monsters"?

Could this be "Troll II" with the sign for "NILBOG" that the boy sees in the mirror?
