This X-box 360 game (released around March 2010) didn't get much (any) hype, and you never would've seen a commercial for it on TV.
It is so reminiscient of a bad movie because it has that "it's so bad it's good" quality, I thought the users here would like to know of it's existence.
You play as an FBI Agent trying to solve a Twin Peaks-type murder, in a quirky Northwest town.
There are "undead" townspeople you have to get through (using an iron pipe, gun, shotgun, machine gun, WEED-WACKER) during the "underground" portions.
But the best parts of this game is when the Agent starts talking about his love of 80s movies. I won't mention specific titles, but it's a hoot to hear a video game reference some of these titles.
I've never seen a game get such varied reviews, either. Just like a bad movie.
IGN gave it a 2.0 out of 10, while Destructoid gave it a straight up 10 out of 10!
Here is the "10" review-
http://www.destructoid.com/review-deadly-premonition-165168.phtmlIt's no GTA IV, but it iS an open-world game. You can drive around, get gas, run OUT of gas, talk to people, follow suspects, peep into peoples' windows (!), and if you go outside after midnight...well, you have to see it to believe it.
Here's the kicker. Its only $20! New!
I just wanted Bad Movie fans that hang out here give this game a chance. If you have a 360 you need to give it a try, anyway.
