Testament- Older stuff  Thumbup newer stuff  Thumbdown

Aww dude, Testament's newer stuff has been good, at least "The Gathering" and "The Formation Of Damnation" -they were monstrous returns to form. I wasn't keen on "Low" or "Demonic" and some of their re-recordings, but they're still one of a number old school thrash bands out there putting new metal bands to shame.

Werd!  I got to see Testament back in 1990 in Allentown, PA

They did their classics, Trial By Fire,   Disciples Of The WatchSouls Of Black and a host more.  Even cooler, was that their opening acts were Nuclear Assault and Savatage.  Smile

Indeed, Testamant is still working with the force they had when they were younger, esp. in light of Chuck Billy's fight with cancer.  And on that note, more power to him!  Thumbup

Annihilator is okay in my book, as well as Accept. It's just not as exciting as some other stuff I listen to. Smile

in my humble opinion 'Never Neverland' is the only Annihilator album anyone needs to hear. It is a masterpiece of metal...the rest don't really hold up. like I said, just my opinion

also Pantera needs a mention - any album from Cowboys From Hell onward. such a heavy sound they pioneered (or stole from Exhorder depending on who you believe)

Pantera is the same as Annihilator as well.
3 Inches of Blood- not really my thing
Mastodon-
Evergrey
Throwdown
Parkway Drive
Thy Will Be Done
In Other Climes (very hard to find any material for... they're a small band from France, possibly even no longer together)
Gojira
Machinehead
Falconer
God Forbid- not really my thing
Hatesphere
Shadows Fall- not really my thing
The Agony Scene
Novembre
Chimaira
Corrosion of Conformity
Dark Tranquillity (name not misspelled; it actually has two L's)- 50/50
Symphony X- Thumbup Thumbup
Steel Attack- 80/20 Drink
Onmyouza-  Thumbup Thumbup
Amon Amarth- ehhhh, say 50/50

still need to listen to it, just don't have the time now.

How'd I forget, I love Devin Townsend!  His stuff can be pretty ecclectic but his work is mostly metal:

It sounds like you'd probably enjoy the Heartwork album by Carcass:

IMO, Heartwork was quite good but not really as good as it's predecessor, Nectroticism......

Saxon, who over the past decade have nailed down a really solid euro-power metal sound.

Yep, that's him.  I haven't listened to much of SYL, but I understand that that group was an outlet for Townsend to make heavier and angrier music.
