The youtube clip of this actually sounds better than the cd I have and the original vinyl.
I'll think of more later. The thing I hate most other than feedback and muddy sounding tracks is when the vocals get buried in the mix or when you can hear plectrums on strings.

You'll find that nearly all black metal and early thrash/death sounds like utter garbage regardless of most of the bands being on decent labels.
Slayer's first two albums sound like they were recorded in a bucket.

Eyehategod's first album has really poor production, but in many ways it just adds to the disease ridden miserable vibe that EHG do so well.

The snare drum sounds like a trash can lid. Funny thing is that album is so awful the first time I listened to it it got me sick for real.
