I know who it is, I just thought I'd give someone else a chance since I got the last one. If I can offer another hint, the "something to do with a soft drink" is a movie scene he directed. If nobody figures it out in a day I'll give my answer.

Just checking: he also co-starred in South Africa's first Western film and had a hand in the production too - that is hopefully the same guy you're thinking of.  Wink
