A good bad movie is like popcorn for the soul!

« on: August 04, 2011, 06:00:38 PM »

110 today.
112 yesterday.
112 the day before that.
Predicted high 108 tomorrow.
Over 100 every day of the seven day outlook.
40 100 degree days.
34 or so of them now back to back.

We are on our way towards beating our hottest summer ever . . . 1980, when we had 60 100 degree days and 42 of them back to back.

Even for Texas, this is ridiculously warm!!!!

Not cool, still humid, lots of rain 36 hours ago, but Autumn's come.  The air was different this morning, but hardly cool.  Moderate, dryer, changed.  Autumn's here even if we have a week or two of scorching to abide.  Sorry to hear how Texas has suffered with scorchers and drought.  I always think when we get our lush rain, "I wish it'd go to Texas..."  I'm serious.   Bluesad

It's been raining here in Phoenix, but it seems to have no affect other than to make it humid as well as hot. 25% humidity doesn't sound like much, but when its 110 degrees it makes a difference.

Keep cool, everybody, if you can!

Overcast and 60 F here in Germany.
This is one of the "worst" summers we had in years though I'm not really complaining. Last week we had thick morning fog, in July. Very rare and unusual.
The last weekend in August we are celebrating our annual Old Town's Fest, and carp season begins September 1st. Two regional events that marks the end of Summer.

Sixty-eight Fahrenheit here at the moment.  Sure glad I don't live in Texas   TeddyR

We had a tremendously cold winter, a tremendously cool spring, and although the summer temp's haven't been much different than usual, it's just been so ridiculously humid for the last few weeks it was unbearable.  The other day it was only in the mid eighties but after 9 holes of golf my shirt was completely soaked, front and back.  Just this stagnant steaminess and not so much as a hint of a breeze.  Thankfully some high pressure zone has parked itself to our west and it's actually fairly pleasant now.

Here in Massachusetts we went through a stretch of 95 - 100 degree days.  But recently it's been in the 70s and 80s.  It rarely gets above 100 around here.  But it does tend to get humid at times.

It sure isn't hot here at about 14 degrees Celsius but I do hope those who are elderly and ill in your part of the world can get some cool relief somehow as all that heat has to be a serious threat to their health and well-being.

We had a nice break in the heat today . . . it only got up to 108!
Time to break out the sweaters!!

It is seriously brutal.  about 15 dead of the heat in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area so far.  One high school football coach led his team on their first workout of the new school season, and keeled over dead when it was over.

On the bright side, I haven't had to mow my lawn since the 4th of July!!

There are big massive patched of brown grass in my lawn from the heat and lack of rain. Visually awful. those wacky Wisconsin summers.

Yep, it's been another poor excuse for a summer. There's been the odd day here and there that has been unbearably hot but for the most part it's been very cloudy and has rained an awful lot. I got totally drenched last night, took me about half an hour to peel my clothes off!
