I just love it for nostalgic reasons, so it will be mainly biased. Wink
I just love it, the reason is that the way it's made makes it like no other.

Often overlooked in favor of BORN TO RUN, I find Bruce's debut has his most solid and soulful songwriting, and there's not so much shameless pandering to the "working classes" that crept into his later work.  Here he comes off like Dylan's chosen successor.

Not a fan, though I see what you mean.  It's easier to be authentic if you're poor.  Or, in BRUCE's case, on the toilet.  (Thanks DS).  Bluesad BounceGiggle TeddyR

I'm finding Sepultura's Chaos AD puts me in a no BS mood and I love spinning it.

Vicious riffs, explosive drum work and brutal yet understandable growls.  I really got into this album a few years after it came out and kind of rediscovered it a year or two ago.  I have been playing it frequently since.

I love Pretty Hate Machine by NIN which is another one I spin frequently.

Theres something about music you can dance or rock out to that has a really dark edge.  This one had a fine medium of pre industrial blow up styles.

Prong's cleansing is another album that really has never lost it's luster to me.

I've always felt Prong was a beyond influential band and highly underrated.  They had a sound all of their own that could blow your ears out if you wanted it to.

I think that cover was an attempt by the great ROXY MUSIC to finally chart an album in the USA (and it did... all the way to #37  Lookingup March 1975 for all of 3 weeks...)
ROXY MUSIC had always been overlooked by USA record buyers.  And yes, that's an eye-catching cover.  I love the music.

Ghost Lamarabirabi

Ghost are one of my very favorite bands. I have and really like most of their albums but this is my favorite. it was the first one I got and was when I really kind of stopped being into indie rock and got more into ...other types of indie rock! and The Stones and Marvin Gaye and stuff.

It's a wild album but also really well produced. It's like their Nevermind sort of.

Use Your Fingers by Bloodhound Gang

Years later, through their efforts with their follow-up albums "One Fierce Beer Coaster" in '96 and "Hooray For Boobies" in '99, the Bloodhound Gang would have a slight uptake in popularity.  Notably with the rap-rock song "Why's Everybody Always Picking On Me?" and the songs "Mope" and "The Bad Touch".  But, this album has always been my favorite by them.  Very much un-PC, with mentions and allusions to molestation, 'mentally challenged' kids, rhymes about people missing limbs, and a cover version of the tv theme song "KIDS Incorporated", it's a pretty good rap cd.  Plus, they live near here.

JONI MITCHELL - COURT & SPARK

imo there are 3 other Joni Mitchell albums that could contend for the title of 'best' (Clouds, Blue, Hissing Of Summer Lawns) but Court & Spark is probably my favourite. sublime songwriting, lyrics, arrangements, and playing. all I can say really

The Cramps:  "Songs the Lord Taught Us"

The most raw and rockin' Cramps album by far, and definitely an American classic.  This is pure rock and roll.

Very well put, I totally agree.
