Alan, I was born in what was then Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) on September 11, 1967 and I grew up during a civil war.      Thank you; I've met South Africans in the past, and I've often wanted to ask them this question, but I was afraid of offending. (You did say ANY question.)

     I've never understood racism, or why those who practice it don't see how self-destructive it is.
