Cloudy, slightly chilly and we might have rain over the weekend.

Actually a very nice day today, which was good, because the power has been off most of the day from a particularly violent storm last night that I slept right through.

The day started normally enough. Sun shining, everything working. Then I get a knock on the door, and it's the fire chief. I look outside and there's caution tape all over the place, and the pole out front is leaning at a 45-degree angle toward the house next door. The line feeding our house is draped across the roof of the garage. This part of the street was shut off for most of the day while the pole was replaced. Couldn't get much work done, but at least every other part of town was up and running, and the weather was pleasant.

Must have been one heck of a storm though. There was a dead pine tree lying next to the house, that did not look familiar at all. It was about an eight-footer, snapped off at the base. There was another, similar one deposited across the street, and both had come from somewhere beyond there. A car dealership nearby also had part of an illuminated sign blown off its roof.

And I slept like a log through the whole thing. So did my daughter. It did wake my wife up though, and she confirms it was pretty bad, although the damage surprised her as well.

Look like there's a chance we could be affected by Hurricane Leslie on Tuesday. Let's hope not.

One of those yucky days here today - rainy, gloomy, a little on the chilly side.

Chilly at night (down to 26F), partly sunny but mostly overcast at day. Pretty much feels like autumn. However, forecast is predicting up to 80F next week. ugh.

It was a scorching hot mid-Summer like day here today. It's cooled off now though.

38 F, windy, gloomy, supposed to rain today.

Summer's over  Bluesad  I love winter, but the 2-3 months of cold gloom that passes for fall around here has few redeeming qualities.

Check: got that - already raining too.  Yuck.  The 'cold gloom' you refer to also passes for *winter* where I am. Too warm for snow to accumulate.  Never thought I'd be missing snow so much!   Wide expanses of frozen, dull brown grass just does not cut it as scenery goes.   TongueOut

Gorgeous today, 78 F and sunny.  Supposed to have highs in the mid 70's until Wednesday, then the mid 50's starting Thursday.

Beautiful sunny cool day. Just perfect. Supposed to rain most all the coming week though. Typical for Fall no doubt.
