Picture-perfect autumn day. Overcast, chilly and winds blowing foliage through the streets. Love it. We had some rain in the early afternoon while I was looking out the window enjoying a hot cup of delicious pineapple & coconut flavored tea  Thumbup

Ummm, they are predicting up to 69 F next week and I hope they are WRONG. I don't want sunny warm weather in October. We've had enough in Summer. Bring on the cold, wind, rain and snow.

Great, claws!  You can have our weather.

Dear Weather Channel:  Please consider that it may not be wisest to forecast ELEVEN days of rain ahead.  Particularly as you have never been known to be accurate past about six hours.   Lookingup

Maybe they are setting us up to be grateful to them when they change it to anything but rain.  I'm pretty sure that is a strategy they employ.  TongueOut  Snow would be an improvement!

Pretty typical fall here - permanently overcast, highs barely nudging into the 40's, always looks like it's getting ready to rain.

SUPER foggy.  The kind that when you look out the window it seems like the world has practically disappeared in a sheet of white.

Well, spring has arrived where I live. 73 F, people walking around with shirts and shorts. Some are raking their yard from foliage while others are actually MOWING their lawn. I even spotted a grasshopper hopping in front of me on my way to the store  BounceGiggle
This is beyond bizarre. We are less than a week away from November and we are having BBQ weather.

We had a tiny bit of snow a few days ago

That disappeared as soon as the sun came out.  We're having a bit of a heatwave today actually, it's 46 F which I guess is the high for the day.  It's been getting well into the 20's at night.

Tallies for October in Germany are in:

It was too warm (+1.6 C above the average) and too wet. October baffled meteorologists in Germany because the month began cold (-4.5 C) and ended on high notes (up to +25.9 C). They said that is very odd because it should usually be the other way around. Personally I'm not surprised at all. Our winters are getting warmer and our summers even hotter.

Hmm...no snow yet here in Southcentral Alaska. Not a single flake. Global warming caused by human beings, perhaps? Fat chance, Anchorage just broke a record for the warmest average monthly temperature for October since 1936 by a whopping one degree (43 degrees last month beat out 42.1 degrees in 1936). Now really, did we have global warming caused by human beings in 1936? If so, how did we manage to last so long without breaking the record for all those years?

It finally snowed here in Southcentral Alaska yesterday. November 10 was a couple days shy of the record latest snowfall in local history, which was November 12, 2002. Now things are back to normal around here!  Cheers
