Poorly written, mainstream junk with predicable storylines that don't go anywhere, paper thin characters that are full of clichés, disappointing SPX and a watered down tone because its aimed at a family audience. I'm sorry but this show accumulates the reasons on why I hate TV these days.
I should like to point out that there's nothing wrong with a Family/Sci-Fi show. Ray Bradbury wrote several good short stories which combine Family/Sci-Fi elements. Unfortunately, these writers are not Ray Bradbury...
It's a watchable show, but it needs to address some issues to become a hit. They should focus on fewer characters; trying to tell every little colonist's story leaves little room to develop any single colonist. They need more dinosaurs (shoot! I'm tuning in to see Dinosaurs, why is there only 30 seconds per episode?) They need to work with their actors; Disney-channel quality acting is not adequate for what must be a high budget show.
With all that said, I must say it's better than what I'd do. I'd make another lost world inspired show I (because that's all I can think of). Each episode would be written around a piece of stock-footage from
Walking with Dinosarus, and it would be filmed in a local park. No, I should not be allowed to own a camera.
