Got it for Christmas with the new Megalon. So excited but I'm watching Megalon first.

Also got Dogorah, Varen and the Magic Serpent.

That's a drag ol' Ed wasn't able to add a commentary. Lord this is one of my favorite Godzilla movies too.

Yes!  I was doing cleaning up prior to the holiday, but Garrett wanted to watch the DVD (there are now only 2 Godzilla films he has not seen), so I put it in and caught pieces as I went through the room in the course of my tasks.  The print looked good and the sound was also good, definite improvements over the laserdisc copy I currently have.

There's a few minor details to appreciate in this film you don't see else where.

Such as Colonel Gondo sarcastically talking to his younger commander about being bored and wanting to go with a psychic about checking Godzilla's condition. Kuroki agrees and gives a time he then hangs up the phonse and gives breathes out loudly as in relief. I don't know but you don't really see such noticable communication and tics too often in Godzilla movies.

If there's another release with good old Ed giving commentary I would buy it in a heartbeat!

Haven't had a chance to go get it yet, but I certainly plan on getting it.  This is one of my favorite Godzilla films.  I think Biollante is a great and unique foe for the big G.  It's interesting to see the franchise get its first human reoccurring character in the form of the psychic Mikki. And I think the suit for Godzilla is a pretty good one. The fact that this series of films tried to make Godzilla look more like an animal was a step in the right direction for the creature designs.

I enjoyed Mikki's character. Had forgotten that this was her first appearance until I watched this again. The scene with all the kids and their Godzilla pictures is one of my favorite parts. It makes Godzilla seem more like a power, something beyond the natural.

Yes that scene with the classroom is a classic.

Also did anyone else play with their toys and have Godzilla spit fire down the other monster's throat? When I Godzilla do that to Biollante as a little kid I just went wild that it finally happened.
