New year, new list. Trying a somewhat different approach at representing my "Best Bad Movies" list which I divided into five separate lists (A,B,C,D, and E) rather than throwing them all into one. The A-List reflects the more known ("popular") bad movies based on IMDb rating counts, and my personal rating for ranking. I thought the outcome of doing it this way was quite interesting. The selected titles become more "obscure" with each list. On the downside, this resulted in including "lesser" movies in each list but the cut off line was 5 out of 10 rating so those more or less questionable movies near the bottom of each list should still provide entertainment.

1. Point Break (1991)
2. The Wicker Man (2006)
3. Showgirls (1995)
4. House of the Dead (2003)
5. Troll 2 (1990)

Above the Law? - Because its Steven Seagal at his corniest.
Insanitarium? - Because its bad-ass/kick-ass.
Over the Top? - Because nothing beats ridiculous drama drenched in masculine sweat.
I Know Who Killed Me? - Because its David Lynch meets Ed Wood at the Saw factory.
Amityville II: The Possession? - Because fanboys refuse to see the cheese oozing in this sequel.

Drive Angry? - Because its trashy exploitation.
Dreamcatcher? - Because they are s**tting eels - Troma style.

The Cell 2? - Because its much better than the usual DTV sadistic horror thrown on the market.

I have seen

28. I Know Who Killed Me (2007)
I own this and haven't watched it.

It isn't as epic as THE ROOM, but it's in a similar vein.  It tries really, really hard and just keeps on failing. If you like giallos (or really hate them) it's an interesting piece of work.

I unabashedly love THE ROOM, THE STUFF and DRIVE ANGRY and many of these others are guilty pleasures.  I need to check out BURIAL GROUND and the DEMONS movies.

Nice!  We just went to a a screening with Tommy and Greg Sestero (oh hai Mark) a couple of weeks ago.  It was a blast (we met him about a year ago too, but he seemed more into it this time).  Have fun!

Loving these lists by the way claws!

Of the ones I have seen on that list, I enjoyed:
Troll 2
The Beyond
Shark Attack 3
Demons 2
Jack Frost
Leprechaun 2

I would say The Room is worth at least one viewing, it does have some really funny scenes but a there are some painfully bad scenes as well.

1. Point Break (1991) - Don't like this one.  It's kind of boring.

2. The Wicker Man (2006) - See my comment above.  This movie is plenty bad but not entertainingly so.

7. The Beyond (1981) - I have absolutely no idea what so many people see in this movie.  It's just random crap jumbled together.

9. Space Mutiny (1988) - I love this movie.  Reb Brown, Cissy Cameron, and John Philip Law are wonderful in it.

11. Howling II: Your Sister is a Werewolf (1985) - Frankly, I like this more than The Howling.  At least this movie isn't boring.

14. Hell of the Living Dead (1980) - Good god almighty, this was torture.

15. Burial Ground: The Nights of Terror (1981) - Another famous bad movie I don't like.

17. Slugs: The Movie (1988) - Just competent enough to be dull.  It needed to be either much worse or much better.

18. Above the Law (1988) - Meh.

20. Mega Piranha (2010) - "It wasn't a terrorist attack.  It was giant piranhas!"

23. Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings (1994) - A desecration of the original.

24. Spiders (2000) - Not bad.

26. Plan 9 from Outer Space (1959) - Tragically overplayed but still a hoot.

28. I Know Who Killed Me (2007) - Oh, no!  My finger fell off.  Let me try duct tape.  Didn't work, better sew it back on with fishing line.

41. Jack Frost (1997) - One of the few intentionally bad movies I actually enjoyed.

44. The Hand (1981) - Rubbish.

46. Tombs of the Blind Dead (1972) - Boring, dull, soporific, etc.  The Templars look cool and that's the ONLY good thing about this movie.

47. Abominable (2006) - Strangely enjoyable.

48. Nightmare City (1980) - I realized something about this movie.  Everyone complains that the humans are even dumber and more inert than the zombies in this film.  Well, that's the point.  Umberto Lenzi was trying to make social commentary with this movie!  Ye gods!

49. Crocodile (2000) - Tobe Hooper just didn't give a damn.

50. Kingdom of the Spiders (1977) - A great example of 70s eco-horror.  Played completely straight.  They don't make 'em like this anymore.

51. Gymkata (1985) - It was ok.  I don't think it's a classic of bad cinema, or anything.

52. The Boogeyman (1980) - Meh.

53. Boggy Creek II: And the Legend Continues (1985) - This movie sucks!

56. Devilfish (1984) - This.  Movie.  Rocks!  The original Italian cut is much better than the massacred American cut.

60. A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985) - The best of the series.  Freddy is actually scary in this one.

61. Jaws: The Revenge (1987) - Boring.

67. Bride of the Monster (1955) - This isn't all that bad.  Yes, Bela wrestles and inanimate octopus but, overall, not much worse than some of movies the majors' b-units were putting out.

73. Frogs (1972) - Tongue-in-cheek horror parodies are nothing new, as this movie proves.

74. The Hills Have Eyes Part II (1984) - Terrible.

77. Squirm (1976) - Now you'll be the worm face!

79. The Incredible Melting Man (1977) - This is f**king AWFUL!  No redeeming value whatsoever.  Toss it in the pit with The Jar, Exterminator 2, and others of that ilk.

80. Doppelganger (1993) - WTF?  is the only reaction a sane person can have to this movie.

88. The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996) - No one involved with this had even the slightest idea what they were doing.

89. Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation (2004) - Boring.

90. Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977) - Hilarious.

94. The Giant Spider Invasion (1975) - Even MST3K couldn't keep me awake during this one.

95. Zombi 3 (1988) - Should have been fun but just ... wasn't.

96. Night of the Lepus (1972) - Meh.

97. Empire of the Ants (1977) - Meh.

99. The Food of the Gods (1976) - They actually killed rats to make this movie, including by drowning.  f**k those a***oles.

Great list.  I have watched 1/3 of these and read about the other 2/3.  I have a lot of watching to do.   Twirling

My less-frequently asked questions:

Why'd you include Virus? I know Jamie Lee Curtis hates it for some vaguely-defined reason, but I thought it was a decent sci-fi horror film with a good helping of suspense, and nice FX.

Why Leprechaun 2 instead of Leprechaun 4 or 6? I mean, 2 is pretty strange with it's drinking contest, but the franchise has installments which include one "Dr. Mittenspider" and 4-leaf-clover laced marijuana.

...why Above the Law? I mean, I actually class Above the Law on the low end of Seagal corniness.

I don't see how you can beat Hard to Kill and Seagal's hide-n'-seek game with Vernon at the end: "Veeeeeerrrrrrrrnon, where are u Vernon? Are u in the closet Vernon? ...no, not in the closet, Vernon." I swear, I would have loved to see Seagal play that whole thing out, only to have him look out the window and see the senator coming back from dinner or something "OH, there u are Vernon! I think the movies I have not seen on the list were datted 2002+ (there are some I did see)

Few questions...

You list 1. Point Break (1991) and 2. The Wicker Man (2006)... then you followed it with 3. Showgirls (1995), 4. House of the Dead (2003) and 5. Troll 2 (1990)... I saw Wicker Man and it was little better then the original but I think the badness of the movie is the ending because those that didnt see the original Wicker Man never seen it coming (not spoiling the movie) otherwise I cannot see the line between Wicker Man and Showgirls... Point Break is funny as number 1... This is intresting because Point Break was made with the same flair as Lethal Weapon (1987), sure there are some really silly elements in the story but number 1... that's amazing...

What seems missing...

I would believe that Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999) would be number one because it took over 20 years (and George Lukas seem to over look the thousands of fan stories for this pile of poo... there is no excuse for this movie.)... unless Phantom Menace is saved on your Hate List...

YOR - THE HUNTER FROM THE FUTURE... Is this being saved on an obscure list; I know the movie is freaking hard to get except VHS but I also feel almost everybody that's into bad movies had seen it once.

KISS meets the Phantom of the Park... Same as Yor (I guess)... I believe Gene Simons has a mini-vault with every copy of this film. I think it's awesome and my 4 year old daughter loves it too...

Rock-n-Roll Nightmare, I come in Peace & Snakes on a Plane... did I miss them or they are not good for the list...

Anyway... fun list :)
