It's listed for a March 19th release date on Amazon.

Special Edition: remastered from the newly discovered 35mm negatives and featuring new interviews with stars Robert Z'Dar, Gerald Okamura, and cinematographer Peter Palian.

I wasn't going to bite, until I read this on the director's facebook page.

The Samurai Cop Special Edition DVD may be getting a 2nd release push-back due to an important interview being added to the Bonus Features. More on this as it is confirmed or denied.

Hopefully it's with Matt Hannon or Mark Frazer. That would make it a definite buy for me.

Oh man!  I actually finally broke down and bought the older dvd of this just a couple weeks ago.  Sounds like I'll be double dipping!

Sorry about the bad info, but Wikipedia shows that he died in 2006.
I'm going wait for a review before buying this.
I wonder if it really will be remastered from original negatives.
Something smells fishy.
Cinema Epoch (the company releasing it) doesn't even show it listed on their website.

The Amir Shervan facebook page was made by a fan in an attempt to find his post Samurai Cop movies which are Killing American Style, Gypsy and Young Rebels. I believe they were only released in a few countries and none of them were English speaking. The guy that runs the page does speak to one of the dudes from Cinema Epoch quite a bit so I would say it will go ahead. Those other Shervan movies are also set to get a DVD release. I did ask about a Samurai Cop Blu ray but I was told it was dependent on the sales for the new DVD.

I really hope that the March 19th release date listed on Amazon.com sticks. Samurai Cop in remastered anamorphic widescreen!
This is one of my favorite groan incuding bits of "humor" in the film.

Looks like Amazon is now showing April 9th for a release date.  So, if that sticks, it'll be pushed back, but not too long of a wait...

I just noticed that too. I'm going to keep my pre-order out there until the release finally happens. Sorry, can't type anymore as I've got to change the trash.

It's been pushed back to the 23rd.
I'm glad they're trying to do it right.
I'm all in with this release.

I've still got my pre-order with Amazon.com in place and can't wait to eventually own this DVD. Now when can we get a Samurai Cop blu-ray?

The Samurai Cop (Special Edition) DVD will be pushed back another 2 weeks to April 23rd. Hang in there guys, it was delayed for the Mark Frazer (Aka Frank) interview and is sure to be packed with special features much worth the wait. They are really giving it their all over at Cinema Epoch for this
