I liked it. I was expecting it to be silly, and it delivered.

Yeah great cast and great transfer.
I also checked out VICE SQUAD. It was a bit tame, but I dug it. (I'm a fan of Edward Cahn's flicks)

James Mitchum did look just like his dad, but he couldn't act worth a f**k. BounceGiggle
Vampira reading poetry was great, and I loved Slapsie Maxie hanging out with the beatniks. But the pregnancy by either the rapist or the husband (should I have an abortion?) subplot really made the movie unsettling. Oh, and you can't forget the hula hoop scene.

THE OSCAR is on TCM Tues morning at 9:45 AM est. I haven't seen this, but I've heard good/bad things about it. Sounds like it may be fun. Smile
And it has an all star cast!
Stephen Boyd, Elke Sommer, Milton Berle, Eleanor Parker, Joseph Cotten, Jill St. John, Tony Bennett, Edie Adams, Ernest Borgnine, Ed Begley, Walter Brennan, Broderick Crawford, Peter Lawford, Bob Hope, Hedda Hopper, Frank Sinatra and Nancy Sinatra

I thought this was great. Stephen Boyd did a great job in the lead role (and so did Tony Bennett as his sidekick). Twirling People compare it to VALLEY OF THE DOLLS, and that seems right. It's very dramatic. TongueOut
And Jack Soo, from BARNEY MILLER, was in it!

Really have enjoyed a lot of the recent stuff TCM has been playing...they've played a lot of great film noir classic recently too.

They have.
I caught DOUBLE INDEMNITY for the first time in a long while, and it blew me away once again. I think it's one of the best movies ever made, but DEADLINE AT DAWN...not so much, but at least the dialogue had me laughing.
