14. Hang-On (1985, Sega)
Great motorbike race game; even better as Super Hang-On for the Genesis!

15. Space Harrier, 1985 Sega
Awesome 3D flying/shooting game.  Strap on a jetpack and blast oncoming enemies and bosses.  Wicked fun!

17. Altered Beast (1988)

I really liked this one as a kid, found all the different monsters kind of cool

18. Do! Run Run (1984, Universal)
Great 3rd sequel to Mr. Do where you guide a clown through a playfield collecting dots (which can be upgraded to higher-value items by drawing a line around them, in Qix-fashion) and avoiding monsters.  As per usual the letter monsters and free credit diamond also make an appearance.  Giant rolling logs can be used to mush multiple enemies at once, and your powerball is now restored by collecting dots instead of having to wait for it to return after destroying a monster.

19. Night Driver (1976)
Another old school game.

Small | Large

There is another old school game that I can't remember the name of, but the only instructions for it were "GRAB JOYSTICK AND SHAKE VIGOROUSLY". BounceGiggle
I wish I could remember it's name.

I enjoyed it very much, but it has the some of the strangest end credits ever.

Heh.. you mean where the character can kick/punch the credits?
20. Arkanoid (Taito, 1986)
Wow, this should have been included on the original list.  BREAKOUT update with power-ups and enemies impeding your progress.

I was more thinking about the party.

I guess I don't remember the "party".  Just striking the end credits to make them scroll off the screen faster.
21. 1942 (1984, Capcom)
Perhaps Capcom's first worldwide success.  Good shooter, albeit with limited power-ups.
