Don't know why I'm making a thread about this but I have a question about this image for the REALLY BAD monster flick The Creeping Terror (1964). Does anyone think or know if this poster is legit? Compared to most B-movie posters, it lacks any form of credits and has a weird font that I'm not 100% sure existed at the time, as well as some blood splats that look quite modern in a way. As opposed to that though, I have to saw this is a pretty cheap and ugly poster. The font is bizarre and unfitting, there's literally no other words except for the title and the drawing style looks so strange, though the carpet monster is very much accurate. Some elements of this poster lead me to believe it's fan-made and bad on purpose, but this poster looks just as cheap as the film it's advertising so I wouldn't really be surprised if it was real. There's also rumours that The Creeping Terror never even had an official theatrical release until Crown International picked it up and aired it on TV in the 70s. Here it is.

Maybe I'm examining WAY too much. What do you think though? Real or fan-made? If fan-made, I have to say they did a good job making it look as trashy as the film it's based on.

My guess would be it's a recent cover made for a public domain DVD release. In fact if you google "creeping terror poster" you see this:

I think you're right that it doesn't look vintage.

The artwork is not at all right for the time period, in the US anyway.

I agree....not too vintage. I really don't like many  reworked covers for modern DVDs.

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought it wouldn't be vintage. I did think the cheap drawing looked 50s/60s in a way, but monsters on B-movie posters at the time were usually exaggerated or used as a photo rather than a detailed sketch. Shame, I really wanted to see what a release poster for this film looked like. Vic Savage probably didn't bother making one as this entire film was just a great big con.

I couldn't find any movie posters for it, but I did turn up these other releases.

Thanks for those. The first looks like a bad photoshopping, the second looks to well-drawn. There probably wasn't even a real poster created for it back in the day.

They were both used as box art for video releases at various points.

The second picture there is probably the best the Creeping Terror has ever looked.

This movie makes me giggle just thinking about it. I love the scene where the bikini-clad girl is eaten, and even when only her legs are outside the monster, you can still hear her screaming just as loud as when it was merely shuffling towards her.

That was probably the worst moment, not to mention that her and all the other victims just climb into it's mouth to get eaten. So badly done, but hilarious otherwise.
