What do you think are the five BEST TV shows ever?  TV ain't been 'round that long, but, what the hell?

1. I LOVE LUCY
2. THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW
3. SEINFELD
4. THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW
5. LEAVE IT TO BEAVER

Feel free to add as many as you care to, but I'm only listing five, and the first three I feel confident about their placement in my generation... but 4 and 5 are ones I love that many love, but, are they great...?  I think so, but what're yoursQuestion

1.) Seinfeld
2.) All in The Family
3.) SNL
4.) M*A*S*H
5.) South Park

South Park, honestly, is the best written cartoon, alongside The Simpsons. It's handling of politics is swell too.

In no order, without much thought:

Seinfeld
The Simpsons
The Twilight Zone
Monty Python's Flying Circus
Sesame Street
Mystery Science Theater 3000

Arrested Development comes real close...

In alphabetical order:

  • Bonanza
  • Doctor Who
  • Gunsmoke
  • M*A*S*H

(Even with more categories it is still difficult for me to narrow down to just 5)

Westerns
  • Bonanza
  • Gunsmoke
  • Have Gun Will Travel
  • Little House on the Prairie
  • The Guns of Will Sonnett

Sitcom
  • All in the Family
  • Family Ties
  • I Love Lucy
  • M*A*S*H
  • I Dream of Jeanie

Science Fiction
  • Firefly
  • Doctor Who
  • Farscape
  • Star Trek: TOS
  • The Twilight Zone (original)

Comedy
  • The Benny Hill Show
  • Three Stooges
  • Mr. Bean
  • Monty Python
  • The Carol Burnet Show

Drama
  • Magnum, P.I.
  • Law & Order
  • The Prisoner
  • Murder She Wrote
  • The Rockford Files

Cartoons
  • Flash Gordon
  • Jonny Quest
  • Looney Tunes
  • Rocky & Bullwinkle
  • Star Blazers

I like what Mithrander did!

By catagory-

Westerns-
1.GUNSMOKE
2.WAGON TRAIN
3.BIG VALLEY
4.RIFLE MAN
5.GRIZZLY ADDAMS

Comedy-

1.GREEN ACRES
2.SNL
3.TWO AND A HALF MEN
4.BENNY HILL
5.ANDY GRIFFITH
6.MONTY PYTHON'S FLYING CIRCUS

I noticed that Mithrandir posted the 3 Stooges-but the Stooges didnt do TV-they did theatrical shorts that got lotsa TV air, much like the Little Rascals and 40's and 50's cartoons.

SCI FI/HORROR-

1.TWILIGHT ZONE
2.STAR TREK (60's)
3.THRILLER
4.OUTER LIMITS
5.X-FILES

Crime /Drama-
1.ROUTE 66-yes-most of the episodes-but not all! Had crimes commited.
2.the UNTOUCHABLES
3.CRIMINAL MINDS (unreal,I know,but such a good cast!)
4.CRIME STORY
5.COMBAT

Cartoons-I aint including Warner Bros,MGM,and such-because they were first shown at theaters.

1.REN AND STIMPY
2.COW AND CHICKEN
3.The PINK PANTHER
4.JOHNNY QUEST
5.Ralph Bakshi's subversive 80's version of MIGHTY MOUSE.

Small | Large

I wish You Tube had a decent vid of the Ren and Stimpy song "Lord Loves A Hangin"-thats why he gives us necks!
