Nicholas Weesies’ stop in Bolingbrook Branch Court Wednesday morning could have been a relatively painless affair.
Instead, his phone went off in open court, he was detained for contempt and police allegedly found marijuana and prescription pills in his possession when they searched him, officials said Thursday.
Weesies, 19, was due in court to pay a $150 fine on a prior resisting or obstructing a peace officer charge, according to Will County Circuit Court records.
As Weesies waited for his case, his phone went off, according to Bolingbrook police Lt. Michael Rompa.
