Noooo!   Egon was my childhood hero!

This... this one's rough.  I mean, people say they feel sad when a celebrity dies sometimes, but this guy, he wasn't just an actor I LIKED.  He meant something to me.

He was the guy that made it bearable when I learned I'd have to start wearing glasses.

Damn...

That.  Is wonderful.  Harold Ramis really meant something to me, too.  Egon was one of the few fictional characters I met who were like me and not the butt of mean spirited jokes.  Egon was a damned HERO, who was smart, socially awkward, wore glasses, had trouble dealing with girls, and wasn't Hollywood-pretty.  He used his brains, not his brawn.  Egon Spengler was an inspiration to me.  RIP, Harold Ramis, and I hope you knew how much a character you created meant to guys like me.

"Ghostbusters" is among my favorite comedies, and we watch "Groundhog Day" every year.

Those are my two favorites as well. Those, and Stripes (1981), specifically my favorite line out of that movie: "No, we're not homosexuals. But we are willing to learn!"

R.I.P. Harold Ramis! You always had the innate ability to make me laugh, and that is a simple enough reason for me.  Cheers

Damn.

Just...damn.

I never really 'care' when a celebrity passes.  I don't know them on a personal level.  But his movies literally were my life...Ghostbusters, Groundhog, Vacation, so many.

I know what you mean.

There's so much of my life that I've actually modeled after Egon Spengler.

Most of the time, a celebrity dies and you just say "Oh, that's so sad," but I was literally crying earlier over the loss of this man.

I was looking at that, wondering exactly what that was and all of a sudden it hit me - Egon walking away with Slimer - and I started to cry.
