    That was the late Frederic Brown, who wrote wonderful science fiction, much of which was quite short.

     As I got out of bed, the full moon illuminated my room.  When I turned around, I saw I was still lying there.

     With a scream, I pushed away the rotting thing in front of me. My fingers touched a mirror.

     My girlfriend is no longer a size six. Since I strangled her and put her in the basement, she's been bustin' out all over.

Twelve miles from home, two toddlers in the back seat. With horror she realizes she left the diaper bag oN tHe kItChEn CoUnTeR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Sorry if this one is too scary for those able to appreciate the true horror of the scenario.)
