Dear everyone,

a friend of mine and me often see movies together as we share the fine taste of b-movies. Now we are seeing Godzilla and other monster movies.

But soon we want to pass to Sci-Fi, while I am quite the connoisseur (eheh) of giant monster movies, I am not really in Sci-Fi so I would like to ask for help.

At the moment we have this on list:
Galaxina [1980],
Forbidden Planet [1956],
Space Mutiny [1988],
Star Wars [1977] (thanks to Harmy's Star Wars Despecialized Edition)...

As Forbidden Planet [1956] shows the movies do not need to be bad. Nonetheless we don't mind, as reader of this website you know what I mean :)

So? What do you suggest from Sci-Fi old timers?

.INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS-both versions-from '56 and '75 are excellent.
.the THING (1982)
.PLAN 9 from OUTER SPACE (1959)
.ROBOT MONSTER (1953)
.ALIEN (1979)
.IT CONQUER THE WORLD (1956)
.2001: A SPACE ODDESSY (1968)
.THIS ISLAND EARTH (1955)
.WAR OF THE WORLDS (1953)

Even as bad as ROBOT MONSTER and PLAN 9 are-they are hugly entertaining-much more so then the tedious GALAXINA.

How could I forget:
Starcrash [1978], I already seen this one years ago. An incredible experience.

Thanks for suggestions, they look quite nice. Yet, according to the Borntreger's review of Galaxina, it should not be so bad... However I read more negative reviews around. I guess you did not like it?

Any other?

The Black Hole... I have such fondness for this one. But it hasn't aged all that weel, plus it was a kid's show mostly.

It's slow but I've always liked Silent Runnning.

The Lathe of Heaven and The Illustrated Man are some good purist type sci fi. the former is the better movie but the only existing copy isn't the best quality and its pretty cheap production to begin with.

Phase 4 is pretty perfect combination of high and not so high art. it's an animals attack movie at it's base but somehow its so much more

Bad Taste (1989)

This is a splatter science fiction horror comedy film.  TeddyR

Oh... yes. And from my favorite director too! While it is not sci-fi, about goriness, I prefer the never Braindead (1992). Jackson is a genius.

Little off-topic parenthesis, do anyone have seen the newest movie of Jackson? Lovely Bones?
