Lagomorphs: menace or underutilized resource?

« on: February 16, 2015, 08:13:00 AM »

I know there are lots of movies that respectable actors make either just for a paycheck or because the projects seemed to have great potential. Sometimes, these movies turn into horrible rubbish that people like us on this site cherish for their ineptitude, even while those involved wish they'd never seen the scripts. Two immediate examples that come to my mind are Robin Williams in Popeye and Bob Hoskins in Super Mario Brothers. What are some of your favorite stinkers that made those involved ashamed they took part? I'm looking for big name actors (and maybe a few Alan Smithee directors) and the movies they wish would go away.

I heard that Val Kilmer disowned Top Secret: I can't think why.

Yeah, I laughed my galaxy spanning a$$ off at that flick.

Another consideration: Actors who, like John Carradine happily took what ever pay they could get and had no illusions of doing Shakespear, and maybe some who just never realized what they were doing (Calling Ed Wood).

Halle Berry is ashamed of CATWOMAN.

Peter Cushing, whenever asked, always said that The Blood Beast Terror was the one movie he ever did that he wished he'd passed on.

Not that long ago Eddie Murphy denounced Beverly Hills Cop 3 and way before that he was ashamed of the awesome "The Golden Child".

I read somewhere (unreliable source anyway) that Arnold Schwarzenegger was not happy of his first movie Hercules in New York [1969]. Personally I think it was a nice enjoyable b-movie instead and definitely better of some other movies of his.

I could easily believe that he would be unhappy with this movie since they dubbed someone over his voice because he was too hard to understand. It is among my favorite Schwarzenegger movies.

Thanks everyone! Please keep the info coming. I remembered hearing about a couple of these when I read your posts (the Eddie Murphy/Golden Child and the Halle Berry/Catwoman posts), but I didn't know about the others, so I am grateful for your help.

Isn't there a story about the cast, most notably Jeff Morrow, of The Giant Claw being embarrassed at a screening of it?

~ Jim Carrey condemned Kick Ass 2 because Sandy Hook made him change his mind on the films portrayal of gun violence.
~ Apparently both Juliette Lewis and Quentin Tarantino who attended a screening together disliked Natural Born Killers and both left the theater halfway through and went to a bar instead.
~ Steven Spielberg hates Hook.
~ Jennifer Connelly used to bash her movie Phenomena on talk shows.
~ Don't even mention Mommie Dearest to Faye Dunaway...

Bill Murray has trashed Garfield a lot as has George Clooney with Batman & Robin (although with Combat Acadamy and Solaris on his credits I think its unfair to single out that one for abuse ;) ).

Christopher Lee apologized for Howling II.

Shia LeBeouf trashed the second Transformers and Indiana Jones 4.

Carrie Fisher has been pretty cynical towards her role in Star Wars.

Jessica Alba hated Fantastic 4, and almost quit acting after the second movie.

John Goodman takes occasional shots at The Flintstones.

Stalone hated Stop or My Mom Will Shoot.

Bill Cosby warned audiences not to see Leonard Part 6.

I must say I agree with these particular stars about these movies.  Twirling

Apparently Christopher Plummer only did Starcrash because it meant he could travel to Rome.
