Here's a good B-Movie that I'm sure many of you have heard about, since billions of blogs keep talking about it.
So, in 1967, South Korea made their first Daikaiju film. No, it isn't Yonggary. It was a film called "Ujugoe-in Wangmagwi", which was later called "Big Monster, Wangmagwi", but is universally known as "Space Monster Wangmagwi". The film got lost for many years, however it was re-discovered in the 21st century, and to this day it has not been released as obtainable footage. The only known copy is at a South Korean film festival, that shows it once in a great while. I personally find it interesting that some company hasn't taken it and resurrected it, yet. They'd probably make some decent money from releasing an unreleased, obscure, and cheesy film. Someone should alert Syfy about this, I'm sure they'd love to see what they can do to get it back.
Now, a website titled "koreanfilm.org" has already described the plot of the movie. Since they were lucky enough to have seen it at the film festival. The plot is (from what I remember), tin foil aliens would love to take over Earth. Because that's all they ever want. So, what better way to take over Earth is there than to summon a monster to attack Seoul? The monster is obviously Wangmagwi, and it looks like a big lizard man with teeth, and a big vent on his head that shoots explosive water, soulless holes for eyes, and bear claws. They tried to do a King Kong type thing with Wangmagwi grabbing a bride, because she was waiting because her wedding was delayed because there was a giant goddamn monster tromping over the city! And of course, the monster carries her around. The site also mentioned something about a boy named "Squirrel" who climbed into Wangmagwi's ear and stabbed it. But I haven't looked in ages, I don't really remember. I also remember that most of the movie was just the monster clumsily walking around the city, smashing a cardboard or balsa wood building every now and again. I don't remember how they killed the monster. If they even said.
Basically, all we can do is hope for this historical, and legendary B-Movie to get revived some day.
