Yup, the cinematic version of a First-Person Shooter (FPS, for short). CRANK used video game tropes to fuel it and its sequel, but this takes it to a whole new level.
Originally called HARDCORE, it is done entirely from the main character's point of view. Also, like in most FPS games, your character does not speak. Based on the trailer, I think you can expect fairly non-stop action.
Supposedly it was shot using dual GoPro cameras and a unusual rig to reduce the likelihood of motion sickness for the viewer. I don't get motion sick playing the games or even watching this trailer, so maybe it works. However, it looks like it might require multiple viewings just to keep up with all the action since you aren't distanced from it.
I'm putting it in the Good Movies area because I think, if nothing else, this will be a classic simply because of the innovation involved. I just hope we don't get endless clones.
What I want is a feature-length behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of this movie. Just from the trailer, I feel sorry for the editor on this film; it had to be a nightmare.
