Just before I start this: no way in hell am I leaving here. 

After a horrible 2016 - personal, bad and work quite often awful - one of my 2017 resolutions is to use this thing called the Internet less and less.

The world is just depressing the heck out of me and the less I know what is going on, the better. I am actually scared that because of my ever changing moods, I will one day post something that will get me suspended or worse so its' better not to post at all.

I'll be closing my FB account soon - if I can - but will continue to be on here as this is my home. 

I will miss you...

I noticed that your account on Fakebook was deactivated and I concur if I didn't have business online and store pages with 1000's of customers I'd drop Fakebook like hot rock it's the cesspool of the internet.

And I've been calling it f**kfacebook for years.  I like Fakebook better.  We agree; it is the cesspool of the internet.

Once, a long time ago, during the English Civil War of the 17th century, there were 2 well-known English poets fighting on opposite sides during the war. And in 1 battle, when 1 of them was captured and was about to be executed, the other poet in a plea to save the life of his fellow poet pled thus. As long, as the poet, the one who was about to be executed, was alive, the poet, making the plea, would only be regarded as the 2nd worst poet in England. This plea saved the poet's life, but when he heard what was said about him, he was so incensed, that he thereafter ever refused to speak to the poet who saved his life.

So, Trevor don't leave. For as long as you are here, I'll only have the 2nd smelliest underwear.

I understand how Trevor feels.  Our world is spinning faster and faster, and the violence is more and more apparent.  Social media has made us all witnesses.  It can be soul crushing.

Agreed. When I was a kid, you only heard about major violent events on the evening national news and the occasional crime from local news. Every single day I open the internet, even when trying very hard to avoid it, I am pummeled by a constant stream of hate, violence, vitriol, and real-life horrors. It's making life seem pointless and not worth living.

I wish I knew how to ignore the world, yet still be able to function within it.

You are not alone, Brother Trevor, in how you feel.
