Reddit is a giant hivemind. It's like a forum, but isn't. It is responsible for killing a lot of forums. My guess is that because there are so many subreddits for practically everything that people would go there.

Even more mindblowing was seeing youtube videos of A-list celebrities going undercover on reddit, though I've never actually watched any of those.
