R. Lee Ermey --  Full Metal Jacket

Stanley kubrick caught on right away. Put R.Lee Ermy in a movie,  have him killed and the movie will be a hit  Wink

Speaking if kubrick...

Roy Schreider.  2010.

No one's gonna agree with me here but I think that Marlon Brando's best role was when he played marc antony in the B&W "Julius Caesar".

2010?   Question  I also don't see how STANLEY KUBRICK had anything to do with that.
ROY SCHEIDER's best role must be ALL THAT JAZZ.  Or MARATHON MAN or JAWS...

the SEVEN-UPS!
Which brings me to Gene Hackman in the FRENCH CONNECTION (1971), cuz Roy was great in that as well.

You mentioned Paul Newman earlier...I would have to saw without a doubt COOL HAND LUKE (1967), which is one of my favorite movies of all time of any genre.

Brandon Lee - The Crow. Everything else I have seen him in is terrible, but he was perfect for this one movie.

not sure anyone will agree but...

Robert De Niro : MEET THE PARENTS

- btw GOODFELLAS is my #1 movie of all time, and although he's great in it I just don't think of it as a 'De Niro' movie especially.
