I don't know their other albums, but I gather this one directed them towards a more "Pop" sound.  Funny thing is, it's the "traditional" sound of the record I like best!  I've listened to that for 30 years.   Thumbup

Try the Pogues "Rum Sodomy and the Lash" for their most traditional sound. (Actually they have a record before that that's even more traditional, but it's also boring). It includes this sort-of cult hit song, "The Old Main Drag":
