Almost fourteen months after beginning to write on it, PRESIDENT HAMILTON: A NOVEL OF ALTERNATIVE HISTORY, is complete.
405 pages, 176,401 words, and a lot of hours of research and pounding away at the keyboard.
This epic of alternative history begins with the infamous duel at Weekawken, NJ, where Alexander Hamilton was killed in our timeline by Vice President Aaron Burr, but flips the result - Hamilton lives and Burr dies.
But as the injured Hamilton recovers from his wound, he makes the momentous decision to re-enter politics - to run for the Senate, and then for the Presidency - with one goal in mind: the abolition of slavery.
Fifty years BEFORE our Civil War.
Does he succeed? You'll have to wait to find out!
I'll be editing this one almost right away, and then start looking for a publisher. I'd really like to get one of the bigger houses to take this one on, but the challenge is getting them to look at the manuscript. I think with a decent publicity budget and a cover blurb from Lin-Manuel Miranda, this story could be HUGE! Maybe my first real best-seller.
