For me, it is. I'm only a member of one other forum-the Classic Horror Film Board.
Mostly because the folks here are down to earth. I've known some of you folks longer than all of the women I lived with over the years. And unlike some other forums, we talk about everything.
You folks are good company and smart. And always fun to talk to!

Orange you sweet?

I belong to 3 other forums, most of which echo and have cobwebs... just like home!  Badmovies has always been the coolest forum.

I occasionally use other forums, although I lose interest quickly and move on. This is the only place I've hung around for more than a year so far.

With the exception of the annual 48hr film festival, most of the film & acting groups have turned into advertisement boards for improv schools, casting calls for the kind of actors they're not gonna find in THIS town, or casting calls a couple hundred miles away for no pay.

I don't MIND improv, I mean, I enjoy watch or people try it, and it's okay as a warm up exercise, But in of it's self, it's not acting.

All the other forums I belong to have withered and died over the years.
This one has hung on, and I've come to regard it as my second home.

Anybody here on Meetup.com?

How many of those actually have any Meetups?

Can you even count how many have started & disappeared? The Irony being, they actually cost a fee; You can't just start one & forget about it.

It's the only one I go to now. I'm pretty sure some of the ones I used to go to have vanished. Some are still running but I literally don't recall my logins there.

No, but it's one of two forums I visit, so basically it's my second favorite.  TeddyR

Yes it is: my family is here and I will be here as long as I still have fingers to type, eyes to see and underpants to ruin.  Wink

this is the only movie related board I post on, but I also post on a couple of electronic music forums, and used to post on one or 2 random others that are now defunct

what I like this place is that I'm free to be totally clueless about movies, without being made to feel stupid. I don't feel like anyone's lying in wait to pounce on any mistake or error I might make. cause when it comes to slightly more niche interest forums the sense of cliquey-ness and derision can get unbearable

I also like the green vibe of this place. it reminds me of, erm, trees? and...other green things.

I participate in the board game forums over at boardgamegeek.com

But I don't feel any kind of connection with people in those discussions. Over here, I feel like I'm hanging around with a bunch of people I know and we're just talking about interesting things. And some funny stuff goes on in here. Unfortunately, so many members have come and gone over the years. But I guess that's life.
